Kindah (Al-Khalidi) Brennan is a professional graphic and digital artist who has produced a plethora of commercial as well as personal/experimental works over the years. She is the founder and co-owner of the graphics/printing company Bezign that serves the communities of Simi Valley and Moorpark in Ventura County. The company was awarded “Best of Simi Valley” in graphic services for five consecutive years. As long-time residents of Southern California and dedicated residents of Simi Valley, Kindah and her partner have established many important relationships with other print shops and graphics firms. Many design firms and print houses outsource their work to Bezign as the result of the company's cutting-edge equipment and know-how in a wide variety of print production.
With a master’s degree in art history and twenty years of college teaching experience in both art studio and art lecture courses, Kindah has taught on a number of Southern Californian campuses. These include Westwood College, Los Angeles Mission College, Woodbury University, and Oxnard College. She has taught both Western and Non-Western art history courses as well as a variety of traditional studio courses such as drawing, 2D design, 3D design, and painting as well as a number of graphics courses, portfolio courses, graphic design business practices, and history of graphic design courses.
In her personal work as a first generation Arab American, Kindah draws on the cultural influences of mathematically-based design such as the arabesque as a means of exploring the concepts of interconnectedness, isolation, and the infinite or time. Her exploration of digital tools and methods underscores the "double-edged sword" that new technology poses in our time.
